BUYER BEWARE! Dye BLUE with universal sponge

I've used Scotch-Brite sponges my whole life (my family used them growing up). However, I saw another buyer review them on their website and I saw great reviews for Revain. I bought them and an O-Cedar Heavy Duty Sponge (black and blue). You arrived today and decided to try the multifunctional sponge. When I opened the package and took one out, it was damp and had a faint chemical odor. Didn't bother me enough to not use it. I thought it was to keep the sponge in the packaging and after rinsing with hot soapy water it disappeared. When washing the dishes, I noticed that the soapy water had a blue cast. I thought it would go away over time, but when I rinsed one of my mugs I bought from West Elm (the mug isn't expensive), the mug turned BLUE in places (photos are attached to the review). I wiped down my counter with a paper towel (photo attached) and as you can see the dye is very noticeable. Whatever it is, I don't want to use it - parents with children run from these sponges!

Pros
  • RESISTANCE TO ODOUR: no more smelly sponges! Our post-wash sponge prevents the formation of unpleasant odors that are left behind in conventional sponges or washcloths. For best cleaning results, change the sponge every 30-60 days.
