Review on πŸ”§ Beduan Regulator Compressor Gauge System by Chad Judex

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the best, but not the most expensive either

Pros: This is an inexpensive filter that will get the job done for a while. Once installed and sealed it appears to filter most of the moisture out of the compressed air stream. Bad: 1.) Advertised as a semi-automatic drain, the drain valve requires manual operation and is probably not automatic at all. I don't care, but it's still a bit misleading. 2.) The threads on the inlet and outlet of the pipe were not well made. I used brand new fittings and even after cleaning the threads and applying 4 turns of tape I could still feel the "crunch" of the threads as I screwed the fittings in. The engagement was not smooth at all. I pressed the filter and tightened the fittings as hard as I dared, but the outlet side still leaked horribly. I took it apart and applied hydraulic sealant to the threads and it eventually sealed. I just don't think it should have happened with all the new parts. 3.) Plastic bowl. My experience with polycarbonate shells is that they all break after a year or two even if you keep the recommended pressure. The filter works well when all the installation difficulties are met. As long as it works, I'll probably soon forget I had trouble putting it on. However, the day will come when the bowl will crack and hiss like crazy and I will remember spending 90 minutes installing a filter that should have been installed in 10-15 minutes at best.

Pros
  • Filtration
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
