printer kept saying "The printhead is damaged, incorrectly installed, or missing" (or something like that). I tried washing with alcohol according to HP and YouTube recommendations. Didn't work and didn't want to buy a brand new printer because mine worked fine otherwise. This replacement worked great and started working right away. Very satisfied. I don't know how long it will take, but time will tell.
