Review on Wiistar Extractor Optical Splitter Converter by Noah Lewis

IMPORTANT: If you don't have a USB charger that can deliver 2A at 5V, don't buy it. It works great as a $20 fix for my old flat screen with crappy built in speaker and no audio output. Setup is pretty easy: plug an HDMI cable from your device (PS4, laptop, etc.) into the HDMI input of this converter, plug in another HDMI cable (and yes, you need two HDMI cables, so order one now if you still don't have a replacement) from the converter's HDMI output to your TV or monitor, connect an audio cable from the headphone icon port on this converter to your stereo, turn it on and viola. Now most of the people who had problems with this converter are completely useless. or unstable, probably a USB charger was used that is not able to supply enough power to this converter to work. I originally used a small charger with only 0.7A at 5V and the converter didn't work at all (I had black screens). Then I tried using a 1A charger at 5V and it turned on and gave me a video stream, but when there is an intense change in video image (e.g. game, movie) it turns off again . Finally, I used a 2A, 5V charger (the maximum current of the USB charger for small electronics is 1A, same as the iPhone charger, so a 2A charger isn't something that most people in your electronic spares box (mine was from an old camera that was hungry) and viola. Stable supply and since then no problems. I'm deducting a star because even though the manual says 1A DC5V it doesn't work. And the manufacturer made it worse by not including the charger.
