Review on DemerBox: Waterproof by Tim Lea

Worth it but the price is too high

I ordered this because I love camping and my current bluetooth speaker doesn't have enough battery life that I need for a weekend in the wilderness. I wanted something durable with good battery life and good sound. Haven't had a chance to take it camping yet, but have had a chance to do some testing here at home. I am currently using a JBL Extreme speaker. I love the JBL, it has amazing sound but only about 4 hours of battery life at medium volume. Also, it's not as durable as I'd like since I'm going down the river on a boat. The Demer Box advertises 40 hours of battery life, which I find surprising. If it doesn't match that statement, I'll update my review. The Demer box is robust as advertised. The Pelican body is very strong and that's about all I could ask for. I'm sure it can handle whatever I throw at it while I'm out. Its range is also as advertised as I was able to get about 100 feet away from it before it started losing signal. It is easy and convenient to use. I'd love to see a battery indicator, but I think that's a common complaint. The sound is good but a little less rich than my JBL. It doesn't distort up to my near full volume. Distortion starts at full volume, especially with heavier rock. It's loud, but not as loud as I was hoping. All in all I look forward to using it for camping. Not sure if this is worth the price based on my first opinion as the sound is not what I was hoping for at this price point.
