Review on DEWALT DW2557 4 Inch Shank Drill by Viswanath Lopez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I no longer have DeWalt products.

Received this yesterday after several extra days of shipping by USPS all over the west coast before they finally decided to ship it to me but after using it USPS caused mine in the first place anger increased. This bit can eat through soft wood, and I mean chew, but something harder is wasting your time and money. After drilling five holes in a flat 18mm sheet of aluminum everything was done. At the sixth hole, the drill just rotated but didn't cut through. This Chinese-made drill bit is made out of a cheap metal that's only slightly harder than the aluminum I was trying to drill eight holes in. The last new DeWalt product I bought, a circular saw, was made in Mexico but has held up well for the past 8 months. But since it now appears that DeWalt has relocated to China to manufacture their products after over 40 years of buying their products, my relationship with DeWalt ended.

Pros
  • Split tip prevents running
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
