Review on Stanley Proto J5250XL 3/8" Drive Professional Long Handle Pear Head Ratchet, 11 by Darrin Lucas

Just received today and at first glance it's a very well built ratchet. I was surprised how easy the ratchet is and how well balanced it is in the hand. Used for general farm equipment and home vehicle repair/maintenance. Since we are far from Sears (about 100 miles), the Craftsman was out of the question for warranty and exchange trips. Not that the proto-distributor is any closer, but I would like to reduce the frequency of warranty returns by improving quality. 28 years in existence and have seen a drop in quality over the past 5-10 years. Lately I've specialized in disassembling screwdrivers, and I consider myself a person who doesn't misuse tools for other purposes. So I'm looking for something Made in the USA and a few notches above, but I don't want to splurge on the big truck brands. Proto meets these needs well, at least with its ratchets and powered tools.
