It is said that the larger the softbox, the softer the light. It may be true, but I wonder to what extent. If your light shines straight out of the screen through a thin soft sheet (or 2) in the center, it's still pretty sharp. What I ended up getting are small softboxes on ebay but they have a soft sheet that also has an even thicker center circle to spread the light better. This is a smaller box but I like it better for running and shooting and it creates more softness in the middle thanks to the included padded sheet.
