I trimmed the strap a few inches so the buckle doesn't have 6 inches of extra webbing. While this solved the tail problem, without the extra length to grip the sling, it was difficult to pull the sling in and out tightly. Once I tighten it, it stays. I have other belts from Bison Design and they are all excellent quality. This one isn't my favorite. Having tried the double ring design, I prefer the plastic snap for easy attachment.
