Craig really missed the mark with this pattern. There's no efficient way to clamp it down to use the jacks. This is partly due to the lack of coplanarity on the back of the stencil. The edges of the formed base are higher than the center supports, so the clamp will deform the template or it will slip off. There is only one adjustable stop, requiring the user to mark the distance from the top (or bottom) on the cabinet doors, increasing the time and potential for error when fitting knobs or handles. In addition, the stop is not very deep, so that it is possible to slip off the edge of the cabinet door if it protrudes. I ended up marking the center lines on the masking tape, aligning the template, and then using the drill bit to mark the center point for each hole on the drill bit. I then remove the template because it's too difficult to hold while drilling. It may be easier if the doors are removed, but then you will need to readjust the height of the door.
