They are designed for 1/4" glass shelf holes and also fit wooden shelves, will not scratch glass or wood with protective plastic. The plastic coating is on the L-clip, not on the detachable tongue. To order the correct size L clamps I used the end of a 1/4" drill bit to insert it into the pre-drilled holes and it fit perfectly so I ordered 1/4" clamps. If I needed all the L shaped glass shelf clips then the uneven plastic coating and bumps on the clips would cause the problem of the glass shelf not being held tightly or evenly on the clip. I recommend clips with tongues of the same thickness, such as B. Removable tongues. Also, the seller was unable to answer my question as to what the manufacturer's weight limit is for each clip to determine the strength and weight the clips can support.
