I really appreciate that this thing can be charged via USB. You don't have to do it often because the battery lasts quite a long time. It never died for me, but I always keep it loaded. As a docking assistant, I need the ability to switch from 5 watts to 1 watt. The HX300 makes this quick and easy. It's a reliable little radio and I don't have to worry about damaging it when it rains. All channels are pre-programmed so this bad boy is ready to go. Update: after a few months this thing goes off when hit. I am returning it to Standard Horizon for repair or replacement.
