As an IT person, I'm pretty sure something in the pipeline will overheat and fail. This could be a build quality issue in general, and the busbar or transistor could be the culprit. In the 3 months I've had it frequently loses connection when a large amount of data is going through it. It will still detect Wi-Fi signals but will not be able to connect, meaning it will not be able to send any data or handshakes to the router. If I limit the bandwidth I have no problems, but what's the use of high speed internet if you have to limit the bandwidth? I went into the card driver properties and disabled every power saving mode I could find. but in vain. It will download the game to Steam, then randomly disconnect and not connect for 10 minutes. This should be done 15-20 times a week. Also, in the last few months there have been 2-3 times that it stopped detecting signals and I had to turn off the computer for several hours. These issues are specific to this Wi-Fi card on my computer. I can download a large number of games to my laptop, Xbox or PS4 with no issues, DOS or disconnects. You get what you pay for. Unfortunately all my m2 slots were occupied by hard drives and I decided not to get a better card. My experience with this card is very poor reliability.
