Review on Convenient USB Volume Control: DROK PC Speaker Audio Remote Knob with Mute Function - Compatible with Win7, 8, 10, XP, Mac, Vista, Android by Nick Beck

Works as described - a nice addition to control different audio sources and levels via constant mouse movements.

. works through my PC. I edit videos on 3 monitors and also watch a lot of YouTube videos. Everyone has different volume levels, so this knob lets you quickly change the volume without chasing your mouse to adjust the controls on your PC or use your remote control. When I get a call I don't have to search for the mouse, instead a quick button press mutes the existing PC audio to hear the phone. It would be nice if it were wireless so I didn't have to fiddle with the rather short cord. You'll have to provide a longer cable, make it wireless, or do it for a fee. The weight of the device is large enough to keep it fairly stable and not slipping. They should also provide means to attach it to the side or under the table, but velcro would probably work as well. Now if they could add a second USB controlled button to stop and start YouTube videos that would be even better. Here is my original post: I received this today April 6th 2018 and it is GREAT. Previously, when I played YouTube music, Revain movies, or Plex TV recordings through a wireless recording device like the HDHomerun, the volume from my external speakers varied depending on the source. Sometimes I had to adjust both Windows 10 volume and YouTube volume, or when using the headphones I had to rotate them using the Win 10 slider. This is inconvenient because I work on a closed porch where it's still raining can, and if strong, I have to switch to headphones, and it hurts. It sets them all up. Now I don't have to use the mouse or cursor to adjust the volume, just this knob. It takes more turns to adjust the volume, but pressing and turning the knob adjusts the volume much faster. And if you just press and release the button, it toggles between on and off. GREAT. I've tried a few cheaper bugs and almost bought a new boom handle speaker but this does what I want. The price is pretty steep for what appears to be a rotary knob alone, but most others on the market are in the same range. I ordered another one from Revain and for the first time USPS lost it so Revain made me cancel because they didn't have a replacement. Here's what I've tested so far: - YouTube video music - Set up audio as above - Switched to a TV show recorded on a Plex server and couldn't hear it. Turning the knob in quick mode immediately increased the volume to the level I needed. - Switched to Live OTA TV via HD Homerun and it was really loud. I used fast mode and turned it off very quickly. - I switched to an MP4 video I recorded last night and it was about the same at the OTA level, but it could be adjusted. - I've tried plugging in headphones, but the system is a custom build with an ASUS motherboard, and they want to use the embedded audio, which appears to be a different source. I need to figure that out before I go back to explain how it works with headphones. Differences in beeps are black magic which is very confusing for this user. The black base measures approximately 3" x 3.25" x 2.25" (with handle). I have it on a LARGE mouse pad to keep it in place. No picture is needed as it looks the same as in of the description. If I run into problems later, I'll come back and update it. Vijay in Florida, April 6, 2018
