🚙 Rugged Ridge 11352.12 Cowl Vent Scoop, Black for 98-18 Jeep Wrangler TJ/JK - High-Quality Exterior Enhancer Review

After a previous positive experience with Rugged Ridge and their support team I ordered this product and was delighted. Quality, installation instructions, form and function are first class.

I installed this with the hole facing the window. There seems to be a debate about how to look at the discovery. I wanted to keep rain and dirt out of the vent and it seems to have worked. As with all items using 3M™ Tape, you must clean the surface you are sticking to with rubbing alcohol prior to installation.

Installed on my 2015 Wrangler Unlimited facing the windshield (as in the picture). Installation took about 5 minutes. The 3M tape seems very strong. I had already parked the car under a large tree on a rainy weekend and that kept most of the mess from getting into the air intake. I say "most" because there is still a half inch or so of open venting. I'm still very glad I have it.

I bought it mainly for looks, but it improves the air conditioning a little. Easy to use and has been running for months in high winds and speeds over 80mph with no issues. I mounted mine bucket forward as it looked like someone had placed their fast food container on the hood by placing it facing my black Wrangler's windshield as shown.

This scoop works great for me. I installed it backwards to cover the normal air filter; it keeps excess dust out of the jeep ventilation system. Instead of using tape around the edge, I attached ten little super magnets to hold the shovel in place and they do the job well. There are no problems with the noise of the wipers. This does not affect visibility in any way. I don't drive a Jeep through a car wash without removing the bucket.

I bought this just for looks and installed it on a 2011 Jeep Sport. It fits perfectly and looks great and actually draws in more air. Just install it as it says on the box because it looks cooler and because the jeep is engineered to perform better. The airflow hits the windscreen, is reflected and gets into the air vent. Check the forums and they confirm that putting the dustpan by the window works best. It is made of high quality plastic and matches the Jeep's black finish.

Use blue masking tape to outline the outer outline where you want it. , leave the sides but pull them out about 1 inch. So you can get a front kit and then pull the sides back left and right without worrying about them touching the body when offset. closer to the driver's side. I decided to take a chance and buy this Rugged Ridge hood because I got a gift certificate from work thinking it was a useless piece of plastic .
