This hood lock installed on my 2020 Wrangler JL in about 1/2 hour. The instructions were very clear. I didn't want to buy a rivet gun big enough to fit heavy 1/4" steel rivets, so I used 1/4" nuts and bolts. It installed perfectly and I am very happy with the product!

In this case you don't have to "TURN ON" yourself like you would with a gas cap. All you have to do is insert the key and turn! The hardest part is putting in the rivets to hold it in place. My husband did rivets and I grilled. We followed a YouTube video my husband found on how to do it. All I had to do was remove the center section of the grille (and yes, you must remove the entire grille from the jeep!) and replace it with the section of grille that came with the kit! I installed this on a Jeep Gladiator. It's well-made gear, but there are a few features that aren't important to me. The manufacturer will not provide you with a replacement Gladiator grill insert that is different from the JL and looks silly if you use the same insert. Update: I received my replacement product about an hour before I left. I ended up installing a lock in the parking lot of a Home Depot store in Nevada. The lock is easy to install. You just need the right tools. Had to buy some tools I already had at home which is annoying and inconvenient. My rating goes up to 4. Overall this is a good product and I recommend it if you want a locking hood for your jeep. This works with both Gladiator JT and Wrangler JL. On my Gladiator, the replacement plastic center grille that Bolt supplied did not fit the left and right grille plates. Also, my Gladiator was outfitted with a Trailcam (front camera) that takes up as much space as installing a Bolt hood latch. The only real difficulty with the installation is removing the front grille from the Jeep JL. There are videos on YouTube that I would watch before installing. You also need a rivet gun as others have described but I already had it so it didn't really matter. Highly recommended for easy installation. I literally just had to put the key in the lock, turn it all the way and you were done. Easier than the Mopar version which requires you to install the pins yourself. I used (4) M6-1.0 x 25mm hex bolts with nuts as another reviewer wrote and it works, but it was tedious because you need room to tighten the bolts.
