In this case you don't have to "TURN ON" yourself like you would with a gas cap. All you have to do is insert the key and turn! The hardest part is putting in the rivets to hold it in place. My husband did rivets and I grilled. We followed a YouTube video my husband found on how to do it. All I had to do was remove the center section of the grille (and yes, you must remove the entire grille from the jeep!) and replace it with the section of grille that came with the kit! Make sure you have a place to put your grill so you don't scratch it! It is locked when key is in vertical position, unlocked when key is in horizontal position! Sorry if the pics are sideways, they loaded so much! Be sure to tell your mechanic that there is a lock on your hood!
