I've been using the new Pro-1000 for a week now and so far I love it, it's by far the best print quality either from a private photo printer or from my local photo lab. Pros: - The printer itself is well designed, with a slim build and sleek finish - Printing on the printer is superb on all media I've tried (glossy, fancy, matte). Papers from Canon and others) and the software plugin for Lightroom is very easy to use. I get much better print quality (more accurate color, detail, contrast) with this setting, which I got from my local photo lab. and the operation is very simple. Got it from the box to my first print in less than 30 minutes. The machine is quieter than I expected and also faster - probably due to the new technology used in the printer. Reduction of more than 30 million other color operations per second! I also like the Airflow technology for the paper feed - it solves a fairly common problem I used to have (especially with Canon printers) with a slight paper feed curl. The printer works well with photo paper from other manufacturers. I've tried Moab, HahnemΓΌhle, Canson and didn't get bad print results after installing ICC profiles. Some of these profiles are already installed on the printer. I had to experiment a bit with matte paper to avoid very dark shadows, but it's pretty easy to fix with Canon Print Studio Pro. And the downside is that shadows and shadows look absolutely amazing on glossy paper. My first glossy print was like the first time I saw an HD TV. Cons: I was expecting a large footprint from a printer that prints 17-inch prints, but just looking at the product's specs makes it difficult to gauge the Pro's size and weight. -1000. It doesn't matter if you install it in the right place, but don't plan on moving it yourself. - For this price range, it would be nice if the printer didn't limit the length to 22 inches. The comparable Epson has a paper roll option, which would be ideal, but we're hoping a driver update will allow users to set custom paper lengths beyond 22 inches. printer and has more features than I expected. To determine: - Is this printer expensive? At $1,300 yes, but more data on average ink cartridge life is needed to properly estimate the cost of the printer. At $60 each to replace 12 ink cartridges, printing efficiency is a major factor in the overall cost. It's too early to tell, but I compared the printer's very simple ink gauge in Photo 1 and Photo 15 ( 13 x A4, 2 x A3 ), and the changes are very small. Ink levels are well below 70%, but as another reviewer pointed out, this is due to the initial charge process. Will be helpful as more experienced users of this printer accumulate to get a better idea of its print capacity.
