This is my third set of these 4 weather locks. I have several fenced off areas that we use them in as well as an outdoor ski room at a local ski resort which I think is a real test of how well they hold up in the elements. There they are exposed to constant snowfall, harsh winter conditions and many freeze and thaw situations. My child and we are in this locker many times a day and have never had a problem opening or closing it. However, I spray them on both ends with Würth spray, which makes the inside smooth, but they still hold up very well. Just don't be too rough with the lock's little plastic cover, it will fall off and it will be a little painful to put back on.
