Review on Leviton T5633 GY Resistant Charger Receptacle by Dewitt Bhattacharya

An easy way to de-clutter your outlet.

Priora I had a regular outlet and both outlets were occupied when charging my phone and tablet. I needed an outlet to plug in a fan and was considering buying an extension cord or power strip. Decided to try this outlet. It's great for reducing clutter as you no longer need those bulky forks. Simply plug devices directly into the USB sockets and you can connect a fan or other conventional AC devices. I think in the future I would get a version with dual USB-C outputs instead. But that's enough for now. A problem exists with a total load of 25 W with a maximum power of 15 W with only one port. This is normal for slow loading. I only use this type of outlet in the bedroom where devices are plugged in overnight. Another issue is that there is likely to be some power consumption even when no USB devices are connected. After all, there is no easy upgrade path. If I need two USB-Cs, I basically have to flip the switch and replace the entire outlet - rather than just using a different power adapter, for example. I would recommend it but only for places where slow loading is acceptable. For example, overnight in the bedroom. Not recommended for an office where you want maximum performance.

Pros
  • THE FUTURE OF CHARGING USB Type-C enables faster charging and is becoming the default connector for many phones and tablets such as iPhone 12/11/XS/MAX/XR/X/8/7, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S10/S9. /S8/S7/S6, Samsung Tabs, Google Pixel, etc.
Cons
  • Crumpled
