Good idea, but not practical! Rookie Disaster.

While this product appears decent I suspect it is best suited for small dogs and applications where one person can hold the dog while another applies the product. I tried it two different ways with my 150lb Newfie, once with the dog lying down and once with it standing. When lying down, the problem is how to put your paw in the sandbox, since you can only turn your paws for the time being. I tried sanding by hand and ended up covered in globs of glue and sand that took forever to separate. When I tried the standing method, I couldn't squeeze the glue out fast enough for him to balance on three legs, and a few times when he put his paw in the sandpit, his paw got stuck to the sandpit! Then he pulled the paw and tray, and the sand fell absolutely everywhere. Both ended up with a stained fur for the dog and glue and hair stuck to me. A few suggestions for improvement: Tiny glue containers are completely impractical for large dogs. A strip of adhesive is barely enough to cover ONE newfie paw and you have to apply it so quickly that it is difficult to get the adhesive evenly across the paw pad. The time between applying glue and adding sand is too short for such a big paw - when I applied glue to the last pad, the first one was almost dry (and he didn't want to stay seated to do each pad individually Time!). If there were a larger glue applicator, something flat and block-sized that you could dip your paw in right away, it would be a lot easier to apply the glue all at once. Or maybe the roller glue method? It's the same with the sandbox, if there was a way to fill up the sand when the dog is lying down (e.g. paw is upside down) it would be much easier. It's a good idea, but needs some tweaking to make it practical.
