I bought these specifically to cook a portion of rice and beans for dinner in the slow cooker. I cook everything in a glass bowl in a saucepan when I get ready in the morning, then put the lid on and take it to work. Then, at lunchtime, I toss the rice and beans straight into the same bowl and garnish with my toppings. I don't blow lids, but then again I don't think plastic is ever a very smart thing in a microwave. Even "microwaveable" plastic is easily damaged in this way. They always come completely clean after washing my hands and I haven't had any staining or odor issues. I've never had a problem with leaks, but I don't use them to store liquids, according to YMMV. They always kept my entire ration of rice and beans indoors during transit. They never had any trouble heating or cooling, and I've had no breakage or chipping despite rough handling. They're a little more than what I need for a meal, but it's better than less than what I need. I give them five stars. If I ever manage to break them or otherwise wear them out I will look for another set.
