UPDATE (several years later): This blanket is HOT. I loved it the first year I had it because it was so fluffy and warm and I lived in a very old drafty apartment. But after a while it got too hot to sleep under. I woke up completely wet with sweat underneath. I would recommend this if you sleep on AC or live in a very cold climate but definitely not as an all season duvet. It's good when the temperature is below 50 degrees or below, but when it's warmer I can't use it. We've been using it for several years so I feel like I got my money's worth. But if you're like me and you get hot at night, choose something lighter. I've been looking for blankets for too long trying to find the perfect one at a reasonable price. This is the ONLY comforter I've ever had that covers my entire Cal King bed and I don't have to fight my boyfriend over a blanket at night. It's super warm and fluffy. The only thing I wish I could get it in a different color but I will try to find a duvet cover in that size. EDIT: I deducted a star. I've had this duvet for about 5 months now and it's starting to unravel at one of the seams. I don't have a duvet cover so this might help with this issue but it sucks that it rips so easily
