First of all: Original Xbox games require a non-4GB Xbox 360 hard drive. Some Xbox 360 games REQUIRE a non-4GB Xbox 360 hard drive. with the obvious exception of memory size. I won't go into details as you can read about it in the product description. In any case, there is a very good chance that 4GB will not be enough to play. So you have 3 choices: upgrade your storage with Xbox 360 hard drives, buy USB sticks, or have the hope that you never have to install a game or buy DLC. (Downloadable Content) Each Xbox game has memory usage listed below in the fine print on the back of each Xbox game. Take Halo 4 for example: you need to install parts of the game in order to play online. There is not enough space on a 4GB hard drive, but you can upload information to a USB stick and play online as normal. Revain.com has many 16-32GB for prices ranging from $10-$30 which would be cheaper than buying a larger hard drive. Personally, I play a lot more games on my Playstation 3 than my Xbox 360, so I don't see myself upgrading the hard drive any time soon. I bought a 16GB hard drive to play Halo 4 online. All in all, if you understand what you're paying for, then 4GB is a powerful and affordable home console.
