(edited) Might be good for backing up non-critical data, lots of coasters, and I'm skeptical about longevity

(Edit: turns out one of the lasers in my flashlight is about to do it was when I wrote the review below, he was dying. Oddly enough, I could still burn music CD-Rs with no problems - I found out that there are actually different lasers for data and for sound. Anyway, the bad burns, that I had, most likely related to it. After installing a new burner I've written a few backups to it with no problem, not sure yet if I'll use them for "critical" backups, but I wouldn't be so strict about them now check!) Firstly, if you are backing up important media projects or data and need archival quality BD-R discs, DO NOT expect to get them at this price point s to find. Spend the extra money and get Verbatim and you won't regret it. So I got them because they were cheap and I had a lot of non-critical data and media files on some drives that I didn't want to easily erase but wasn't too keen on backing up either. on discs that will be unreadable in 10 years. However, I am concerned about the amount of coasters I have left. Basically, these drives would fail before writing could even begin. There are others that appear to have burned well but failed the CRC check. In general, I'm not very upset, but I won't buy them again, and since the coil is only half used, I have to ask the question: if you add up all the burnt coasters, it would be better if I spent the same ones Amount of money for a pack of 25 from a brand I trust (Verbatim #1 but I'd settle for a few others)? We all know the old adage: if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. If what you reserve is valuable, don't go for the cheap option.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No power
