The "Pro" version delivers decent infrared images for the do-it-yourselfer and serves its purpose. .while he worked. Cheaper models have a bad image and are nothing more than toys. This model doesn't belong in the specialized device category, but it's probably good enough. The size/weight of the device and the ability to connect to an Android phone via micro USB are very convenient. Its big weakness is the battery. I would give "zero" stars if I could. It takes about an hour to charge but lasts 30-40 minutes. This may be enough to walk around the house looking for water leaks or other defects. It's been about 10 months since I bought it and it won't turn on anymore. The battery shows that it is charged, but nothing else happens. There were other bad battery reviews and I should have been more careful. Don't buy this.
