ETC-JLD612-A Temperature Controller With Dual Display And PID Control By Lightobject Review

The PID is working (for now) as expected. Did take a bit to figure out because it comes with NO instructions and the ones off Light Objects website are hard to follow because it sounds like english for a second language wrote them. Once I figured out how to configure the PID and how auto tune works, it seems to be doing the job. Overall it was a good buy for the price, but if you need instructions they can be difficult to follow as they are limited in scope. Would buy again in the future.

The controller arrived earlier than promised. The model was marked JLD612 while the photo was of a TET612, but the two models appear identical, except for the name of one of the PID parameters. I'm using this for a sous vide setup. It worked just fine for a few months, but now it randomly stops working. It will cycle through turning the heater on/off a few times, but then it will just stop heating altogether. The auto-tuning stops and the temperature drops and drops and drops.until I manually turn the auto-tune back on again.then it fails.etc etc etc. Very frustrating.

I bought this through Revain and use it to control the temperature in my soud vide cooker. Excellent quality and a good buy.

I have ordered a few of these, but had problems with some of the units due to broken SSR-connections. Rating given due to the lack of quality control, combined with the poor customer service. I combined a Haake immersion circulator, this PID and a solid state relay to create a sous vide system that maintains the temp to +- 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit once it settles in. Perfect for sous vide.

This unit takes a little work to initially program (a few minutes after you download the manual), and wiring it is very easy but requires basic electrical skills (stripping wires, crimping, reading diagrams). Unfortunately for me I got one that the SSR output wasn't working (as have several other people).since it was the main part of my dyi sous vide controller I did a couple of hours of troubleshooting (figured it was me not connecting or setting it properly.however that was not the case.bad component! Darn!On the good side it came from Revain so I was able to easily replace it with them so no hassles on that side.I had another PID on hand so I was able to confirm that it was the controller quickly

Very functional controller. I use it to keep a small water bath at the proper temperature and it keeps it within 1°F. That's my feedback.
