These leaves are large. I have a 10 gallon aquarium with a filter, heater and divider for my male and female bettas (5 gallons each); I put a leaf on a young male I bought as a child and a day later the water turned a natural tea color. Both of my males seemed very active and happy, they used to be healthy but after the leaf was put in they seemed even more active. Then I cut off half and stick it on the female. The only downside, if you can call it a downside, is that the male fills the bottom of the floating leaf with a very thick nest of bubbles. I think that means he's healthy. There are alternatives if you don't like the color change, but I think it looks pretty cool. Good product.
