Review on FoamPRO Finish Roller Refills High Density by Alton Walton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poorly finished - this will cost you time and money

These roller brushes gave me a lot of trouble. I used them to paint a small area with a very thick, high gloss paint. I deliberately chose a thin surface because I wanted a good shine. Back story about me and painting: I believe in good (usually expensive) paint - it used to be $25 a liter - because you get better results. These brushes are not designed to work with thick paint. . After about 10 minutes they start to get spongy. Thick paint creates some surface tension when applied in a way that liquid paint never does, and unfortunately these brushes are not designed to withstand that kind of force. Once they become spongy, the brush pieces will fall off. They get caught in the paint. I had to rework and start over. The first time I thought it was my fault for not preparing the surface properly. Of course I pre-sanded the surface, washed, then applied Lysol bleach and then washed again. Good preparation, right? Anyway, after another series of sanding and washing, it happened again. It's incredibly frustrating to work with bad materials. So far I've bought three liters for a job that probably needed 1.5 liters. I usually buy standard mini roller brushes in big boxes, but things have changed lately when it comes to buying retail in big boxes. . I say this because I want to emphasize that the bar is not set too high. I say mini buns in big boxes are way better. Low bar - better than big boxes - but this product is hopelessly not as good.
