Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Upgrade Your Gaming Setup with SAMSUNG's Borderless 144Hz LF24G35TFWNXZA Monitor with FreeSync and Flicker-Free Technology". by Adam Screaming

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Outdated DP version, bad brightness, VA panel and backlight.

Pretty inconspicuous monitor from Samsung. Despite being advertised as a gaming monitor, there are much better options out there for the same price - ones that offer the latest connectivity standards, IPS panels and brighter displays, all without the backlight glare that this monitor suffers from. While the Odyssey G3 offers above-average contrast, it's almost useless without a brighter display. TL; DR - Nothing to see here folks. Go forward. FEATURES: * FHD 1920x1080p resolution * VA LED panel * 27" display * 250 cd/m2 (wow!) * 144Hz refresh rate * 1ms response time * AMD FreeSync Premium technology * 3-sided borderless design (almost) * Height adjustable 360 pan/ Tilt stand * VESA compatible * 3.5mm headphone output jack * Contrast ratio 4000:1 (typ.) * Inputs: HDMI DisplayPort ver1.2 (yup! ) D-SUB (seriously. REALLY? !) PROS: * Excellent contrast ratio, 4 times higher than most monitors at this price point * The stand offers a wide adjustment range and a stable base * Stylish design and the almost slanted display looks beautiful * Excellent response time * Beautiful colors * AMD FreeSync Premium is for users available from AMD graphics cards CONS: * Brightness leaves something to be desired, that alone is enough for me to dismiss this monitor if I'm considering a new purchase (especially for gaming!) * 144Hz is nothing special these days other, not for games or anything else. * BACKLIGHT BACKLIGHT .grrrr. Hard to believe that in 2021 we're still dealing with brand new monitors that have so much edge flare.* No HDR* WITHOUT DISPLAY PORT 1.4. incredible features that appeared in versions 1.4 and later. I can't remember the last time I saw a gaming monitor with such an outdated version of DP* D-SUB connector. Um, yeah, seriously. Most of you probably don't even know what this post is. EXACTLY.* no outputs.* Panel VA BOTTOM LINE: Look, it's a normal monitor. But if you're looking for a gaming monitor in 2021, this option isn't for you. To be honest, for $250 I'm not sure there's a target demographic or a suitable use case for this thing. Mediocre, dated and not bright enough. The status is good, I will reply to it. But it's not hard to find better options at this price point, and I can't think of a price I would actually be willing to pay for this monitor. 3 stars because it technically fulfills its role as a monitor.

Pros
  • The curved design gives every office a modern touch.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
