Review on 🥤 Premium Nutricost BCAA Powder 2:1:1 (Unflavored) - 90 Servings of Top Quality Branched Chain Amino Acids by Denise Portis

First of all, for those who don't know, BCAA powder itself tastes terrible. Perhaps this is one of the most delicious things in the world. How it is. Why would anyone choose to consume it in this form rather than taking it in capsules or using super artificial flavors you ask? Well #1) The amount you need to take is quite large, an amount equivalent to around 15-20 capsules. If you're already buying BCAA in capsules, you either have to consume an insane amount of pills (which isn't cost-effective) or take incredibly small doses that are basically pointless. Flavored foods might be the best option for some people, but I prefer to consume as few artificial flavors and sweeteners as possible. I haven't tried the Nutricost flavored version so I can't comment on the taste. A few years ago I used BCAA powder which was delicious. The only problem was that it contained artificial sweeteners so I decided not to order it again. If you're not keen on artificial sweeteners and prefer something with an acceptable taste, you can try NaturoNitro: Naturo Nitro Atlas, Instant BCAA Powder, Best Branched Chain Amino Acids, 28 Servings, 5.5g Per Serving, Lemon Lime Flavor. However, if you want to avoid artificial sweeteners, this Nutricost BCAA powder is the best you can find. Since I prefer to suffer the horrible taste of pure powder, I used the unflavored version. This is not a criticism of this brand; At their core, BCAAs are just gross. We humans are not meant to consume amino acids directly; We're designed to consume meat (which is really damn tasty) and then internally break it down into amino acid components. I once encapsulated this BCAA powder myself as I have a few empty gelatin capsules that I use frequently. to make your own supplement capsules. However, the main issue is that #1) it takes around 15-20 caps per dose AND #2) this powder is incredibly hygroscopic to the point that it will go lumpy within minutes as it pulls moisture from the air almost instantly. It is very difficult to work with him. With that caveat, I have nothing but good things to say about this product. Here's what I like: 1) Made in the USA. It is becoming increasingly rare and sometimes impossible to find. This brand is one of the few that manufactures all of their supplements in the USA. Other brands are made in China (even if they're "packaged") in the US, which means little/no regulation or oversight, and you really have no way of knowing what horrible pollutants you might be ingesting. 2) It works. I know that most people take BCAAs before or after going to the gym to speed up recovery time. I use this for a different purpose: to minimize PEM (post-exercise malaise), which is a debilitating symptom of CFS/ME. When I feel like PEM is starting (which usually starts with dead arms), I take a dose of BCAAs as one of my interventions. Relief comes fairly quickly, although not for long. However, the fact that it is effective tells me that the product is what it is advertised to be. Very satisfied both with this company and with this product in particular.
