Review on 🌈 Vibrant Violet Polyester Dye: Jacquard iDye Fabric Dye for Perfect Polyester Coloration by Heather Shaw

The color differs greatly from the photo; Works great

I used purple. First, it doesn't look like a photo. You always see warnings that the color on your monitor may not match the actual color, but that was a bigger deviation than I expected. I've attached a photo showing the deviation. In the photo, the fabric is also pinker than in real life, but certainly nowhere near blue, which is what I was expecting. The paint smells awful and stinks throughout the house. The dissolution took time. I bought a 5 gallon pot just for coloring, also pictured. It took 45 minutes to cook (now I know that it has to be on high power) and then I let it simmer for maybe 40 minutes and then rinsed it and washed it with detergent in the washing machine. This shirt was 25% rayon and 75% polyester and I think part of the rayon is the threads you can see in the photo that have been left white. I was disappointed with how it turned out, but can't fault the dye. He can only do what he can. The shirt looks weird now so I think I'll try washing the paint off. It's not very portable anymore, so there's nothing to lose. In general, the color has done its job. Edited to add: paint never peels off polyester. I've tried washing machine paint removers, stovetop paint removers, and bleach. No changes. Some paint got onto another garment (nylon) and removed nicely with paint remover, but beware of using it on polyester if you can make a mistake! and I think that the part that was viscose was the threads you can see in the photo left white.
