Not durable at all - Furniture

It was easy to assemble everything except the glass top. Should it just sit on a metal pin?! The cylinder is threaded like something needs to be screwed in, but the mounting pin won't screw in! Terrible design for a pretty cute table. I'm going to a clothing store to find a board that actually SCREWS to secure the countertop.
