We have a giant breed puppy (that is built like a defensive lineman) that pulled like crazy on any walk. Our veterinarian suggested getting a head halter to aid in training him not to pull, and oh man, it made a huge difference! I want him to be a running partner when he is old enough and has leash manners, but I did not know if that was doable. However, this head halter has made that goal seem realistic. Between this and positive reinforcement, he has stopped pulling and is now such a nice walking partner. I got this one as the nose piece is padded and seemed gentler for our big guy compared to others on the market. He was unsure of it at first but got used to it and now does not even seem to know it is there on our walks.
