My tap water is about 8-8.2. My fish (Dalmatian mollies, pygmy gourami, opal gourami, pygmy sucker catfish) thrive well at pH 8, but whenever I do a water change/degravel I clean the incoming water. Ideally I would prefer to change 10% of the water every 2-3 weeks but this is the only time this actually happens to replace almost 10% of the water lost to evaporation.
