Review on 🌬️ Vornado EVDC300 Energy Smart Evaporative Humidifier, 1 Gallon Capacity, with Automatic Shut-off and LED Display by Donna Jones

While there is no such thing as a "perfect" humidifier, this is the best I've found in over a decade. I've gone through several vaporizers, ultrasonicators, and a Honeywell evaporative humidifier like this one. I also have a Rainbow Rainmate but it emits about a pint of water into the air a day so it lives in my bedroom. In my book, it's basically an air purifier. Evaporator heaters are encrusted with minerals, ultrasonic sensors form slime, are difficult to clean thoroughly and leave a white dust, and Honeywell wicks turned into a petri dish in a week and were also difficult to clean. They've all lasted a year or two, despite my best efforts to keep them as clean as possible. I also don't want to spend $4-5 a day on distilled water, I need one that can handle my tap water. I often, but not always, use filtered fridge water in humidifiers as this removes chlorine and some minerals. This humidifier is backed by a 10-year warranty and customer service is located in the USA. These glasses helped me sell myself because I knew I could contact someone if a part went wrong. I will also spend extra money on a product that I don't have to replace every year. I have never bought a Vornado product but it seems to be of a higher quality than most other well known brands. This humidifier is easy to use and clean. I listen to leak alerts so I don't just carry bottles by the handle when they're full. I wear it either on the side or by hand underneath for support. I plan to put a ring of clear Flex Seal inside, as recommended by a reviewer in an FAQ, to reinforce the spot. Now we have a sharp cold snap and the heating works all the time and this keeps my house comfortable. No static hits, no nosebleeds, no waking up with a sore throat and breathing is much more comfortable. My cats also appreciate that their fur stays static-free and their poor wet noses don't get electrocuted. I cleaned it thoroughly last night and soaked the filters in warm water with a dash of white vinegar for a few hours. This eliminated the odor that comes with any moisturizer and removed the yellowish coating. I cleaned the rest of the unit with diluted Lysol to disinfect and rinsed well. I plan to do this every week. I love how this humidifier is completely disassembled so you can clean every part. I rinse the filters with warm tap water and flip them over when I fill the unit. It also discourages hoarding. It is very important to keep humidifiers clean, you will negate their benefits if you breathe polluted air. There are no bottlenecks and you can stick your hand in the bottles to give them a good scrub with a soapy washcloth. Many humidifiers have crevices that are almost impossible to reach, allowing mineral buildup and bacteria to collect there, and bottles can have small holes in them that make cleaning difficult. I can say that Vornado designed this product with easy cleaning in mind. The fan and digital controller are one piece and slide out so you don't have to worry about getting the electronics wet. I love this one so much I just ordered a second one so we can have one on each floor.
