My Experience of YMIX Silicone Keyboard Case for my 2015 15.4" (A1398) MBP Retina PACKAGING: Nice and simple retail packaging. PRODUCT QUALITY / PREPARATION: The product is very thin and the key surface feels almost like micro suede. Soft but quite persistent to the touch. This is a more comfortable surface for the fingers compared to standard keys without being distracting or drawing attention. The leather fits PERFECTLY over each key for a custom fit! There are no common, loose, gaps or misfits with this leather. Even the indentation between the up and down arrow keys is curved, just like the original keyboard. PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: When I first put it on my keyboard, I found that I sometimes half-pressed the corners of the keys and expected a response when I typed quickly. Because each key is encased in silicone, the skin forms a vertical barrier that prevents you from getting information in a sloppy side impact. Admittedly this seemed like an inconvenience at first, but I felt like I had to spend more than 20 seconds on a product to objectively judge whether I liked it or not. After 15-20 minutes I noticed more pluses than minuses. The only downside felt less like a downside and more like a positive adjustment I needed to make. Keystrokes feel more controllable and stable with the skin. Have you ever seen the new 2016 MacBook Pros with "sturdier" keyboards? Yes, it's a bit like that, but it still supports the deeper keystroke that this keyboard originally had (a big plus, IMHO). It clicks less against the skin, is more cushioned, and feels like a high-end upgrade in both feel and functionality. After about an hour of use I started to really appreciate this product and wrote the small change I needed to make as a sloppy typing habit that loose keyboards allowed me to develop. This skin is not to blame. GENERAL: I like feeling it with my fingers. It's soft and touchy, but not sticky! What I find most satisfying about this product is the protection of the keyboard and the vulnerable electronics underneath. What impresses me is how well made this product is. I've read that some people have experienced stretching or stretching over time. I will update my review if I have any issues with the product. RECOMMENDED IMPROVEMENTS: The keyboard backlight is still visible on the sides of the skin, but no longer through the top markings on the key itself. My model has black keys with white markings. While I usually know which keys are which, it wouldn't hurt to be able to see them. Of the pluses - the indication of the F and J keys.
