This unit works well. I had no problems with the update, which requires you to download the update software, unzip it, and then select the correct folder (don't try to update through device manager and select the file). As long as the phone works well I just don't see why it can't tell you the minimum battery life. They appear to have structured the pricing of their Ancel units like car trim levels. In this case, if you want to read the battery level, you need to buy a $120 code reader. Before that I had a $30 code reader that gave me battery levels and ABS data. This block does neither. I'm sure it's possible, but they just want to point you to another product with such features. Irritation. Perhaps they will add functionality with a future software update. I think I have a multimeter to test the battery. Even though it has an O2 test, it doesn't work with my machine. In fact, none of the diagnostic tests work with my car (Hyundai Sonata GLS 2014). He will read the codes. You can delete them. He will definitely check the emissions. But a few cheaper models outperform this device. It's beautiful, I'll give it to him, but it's a bit disappointing. You see this colorful menu and you think it can do so much, but if you delve into it you can basically read the codes, look up what the codes mean and look for little bits of data on whether your car is misfiring. No battery check. No press. There are no transfer codes. Luckily I have a cheaper and older code reader that does ABS and battery checks. So I have this unit to test a few things with the engine running and another to test things that this more expensive five year old new unit can't. They do. It's just software guys. I have no idea why Ansel is blocking the data the machine is sending to him. All this data on abs, gears, battery etc. is sent to the device. Ancel simply limits the data you can view. Disappointing.
