Not the best option, but far from the worst. On the spot the view is great. Unfortunately, these numbers and letters will only stick to a very clean and extremely smooth surface. They also don't stay in place for long if they're constantly exposed to the elements. The ones on my 19 foot fiberglass boat are still in place and looking good two years later. The letters on my little plastic boat are peeling off, as are the numbers I taped to my mailbox. So they will work for you for a while if your boat is fiberglass and you weatherproof it when not in use. They don't seem to work well with plastic or metal, nor do they stand up to constant exposure to the sun and rain.
