Review on Janome Straight Stitch Needle Plate for MC6500P & MC6300 Models: Enhanced for SEO by Denise Davis

If two slots are missing, it just won't work.

UPDATED 23 December 2015 That's right. The plate pictured here and sold on various sites does not fit my new Janome MC6300P machine. The problem is this: the design of the MC6300P has recently changed, maybe permanently, maybe temporarily. The people I spoke to in Janome USA don't know. If you look at the regular zigzag needle plate that comes with new machines, you'll see two slots between the needle hole and the bobbin case. This offsets the space for the "seven-point" rack and pinion system advertised on the more expensive MC6600P machine. My MC6300P came with that fancy 7 point rack or similar instead of the equally fancy 5 point rack in typical MC6300P machine descriptions. The cymbal sold here does not fit the fancy new seven-point comb. Therefore, the feeders in the seven-point system that go into these slots have nowhere to go. So with my MC6300P you can't install it at all, because the racks got into the plate where the slots should be. This plate pictured here is beautifully made and quirky, it appears to be missing two slots just before the pin hole so it won't work with at least some of the newer MC6300P machines. Like my. If you get the wrong number, call Janome at (201) 825-3200 and explain the situation. They sent me the correct nameplate (which I think is standard on the MC6600P). You will need your machine's serial number, so have it ready. The correct straight stitch needle plate they sent me looks like the MC6600P needle plate, WORKS GREAT.
