So far I've only used this for soft woods (pine) on my drill press, so I can't give a good overview of how they work by hand or with harder materials (like metals). It cuts smoother and faster than bimetal, produces shavings, no dust, eliminating the need for constant stops to clean the cut of dust, and the teeth are clean and cool. This allows me to drill three holes in the time it takes the bimetal to cut through one. I run the drill a step faster than recommended for a regular hole saw because the thing only has three teeth. I don't use their core puller but one that fits from another company and the cores are very easy to remove from the saw by hand.
