I also thought it didn't fit (user error!). I placed the tray passenger side down, then lifted it up to set it on the edge. Unfortunately that doesn't work - you have to insert the tray so it sits on the passenger side console ledge and then lower the driver side down onto the top of the console. Pay special attention to the 5th photo below in the description. I added a photo with a yellow arrow showing the lip. Happy with purchase and design.
