Poor lid design for cat doors, railings and steps
I used to have a similar PetSafe door with a sliding lid that worked so well. When replacing the back door, I decided and bought a new pet door. It is designed so the lid can be snapped on from either side depending on which side your pets are on. Unfortunately, my dogs can easily bump into it and bounce off the cover. If you never need to keep your dogs indoors or outdoors, this is for you. BUT, if you expect to ever have to keep your dogs to one side, I suggest you look for a sliding top pet door. About a week later I was faced with the need to replace this pet door for the safety of my beloved dogs.
