Did 4500 miles with two heavy bikes in the back (I'm sure I've exceeded the weight limit) without a single problem. Yes, as some of the reviewers have said, the arms tilt down when the bikes are on, but the rubber straps keep them secure. Rubber braces and their straps slide down under weight and impact, so do yourself a favor and mark the areas where the braces should be so you can reattach them. I also used the two straps provided to secure the bikes to the top steps in case he let go of the bikes left with the trailer. I also used a cable lock to make it more difficult to steal the bikes :) Great product if you need to secure something to your campervan.
