Review on πŸ’‡ Red Conair miniPRO Tourmaline Ceramic Travel Hair Dryer - Folding Handle for Enhanced Portability by Sasha Holmes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Tale of two street hair dryers.

After carefully reading the questions and reviews of many travel hair dryers, I've finally narrowed my choices down to two worthy competitors - BaBylissPRO TT and Conair MiniPRO. I ordered both and below is a comparison. First, they are both excellent travel dryers, easily outperforming my old heavy, bulky travel dryer which was about 20 years old and got sticky with age (why does some items' rubberized coating inexplicably crumble into a sticky mess?). These new ones have a lot more airflow (I'm guessing about the same for both, maybe a little more for the Conair but it's hard to say as there's no way to measure it objectively as I don't know I don't have an anemometer. ) Neither of them don't have as much airflow as a typical full-size hair dryer, but that's just physics and a compromise for portability. Both seem about equally hot, although the Conair can be a bit colder in either mode - that's close. Conair operates on 220 volts and blocks the 'high' setting so abroad there is only one heat/air speed setting. BaByliss has a true 220 volt setting, with both low and high settings working abroad. Both are relatively quiet, but the BaByliss isn't as flashy or as loud. BaByliss is smaller, not by much, but definitely smaller. The overall weight (hair dryer and cord) of the Conair is about 0.2 ounces lighter (I think the difference is negligible), apparently due to the fact that the cord is 10 inches shorter! (The Conair case weighs more than the BaByliss.) They're both covered in a grippy finish that's the same texture and color and hopefully won't get sticky over time like my old dryer. BaByliss has a removable back cover that allows you to clean the screen of lint, but Conair does not. Conair is about $12 cheaper than BaByliss at the time of this review. That's all. I think if you are penniless and willing to sacrifice low setup and a little extra suitcase space when traveling abroad, Conair is the best solution. But if you are like me and want to use the double setting abroad. , smaller size and longer cord (at practically the same overall weight) you will find that the BaByliss is a better dryer. $54, bigger and heavier. I keep Babyliss.

  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
