Excellent for opening boxes and especially for cutting plastic straps. Also great for cutting cable ties. Let's cut the shrink wrap without scratching the item underneath. BUT some things just need a straight blade knife, and trying to use a hooked blade on those jobs is awkward or just doesn't work. For now, I'm keeping my hook-blade knife, but I also have a second straight-blade knife ready.
