Great review from (past) customer

Update Well after a bad experience with Cuisinart a few weeks ago I pulled the trigger and bought Waring. This is my old toaster again (just without the one-way switch (but that's ok)). Without looking back (One note to note. This toaster smelled horrible for the first few cycles, but that's normal. It also makes a little buzzing noise on startup, but that goes away after about 10-15 seconds. Final thought. It has been uneven for the first few cycles roasted cycles.) circling, but then calmed down. I have absolutely no idea why he did that. OK, one last thought. It seems that toasting is better when you don't center your slices in the slots, so along the length. Why that is I don't know either. As for the quirks. Those are easy to overcome and then everything is smooth. ) Original review I have to chime in, although I remember this device as Cuisinart. It's the exact same toaster as mine, just a different brand. I got mine when the previous owners of my first house left it in the kitchen. I thought it looked beautiful, it had a classic appeal. When I first used it, I put my other, much newer toaster into storage. This thing toasted more evenly than any other toaster I've had in all my 42 years. Slices of wide (rye, Italian) bread were placed in two long slots. The sides never got hot, even after a few fast corners (big family/big breakfast). It's killing me that after 12 years the tan selector has finally stopped and I can't figure out how to fix it. I ordered an $80 Cuisinart (rated 4.5 stars(?!)) to replace it, but this (junk) one only lasted a day because it couldn't toast nearly evenly from top to bottom. If it weren't for the $116 price tag (at the time of this review), I would have bought the Waring right away. Actually, $116 wouldn't stop me for a second, but my wife would. Damn.
