Thank goodness I found this on Revain. We're frugal (not cheap, just imaginative) and have used old pie plates as a resting place for cobs. When they became unbearable we had to eat cake (oh shit) and replace them. But still: It was really unsightly and not very good. I really had no idea this was the case until I started looking for an alternative solution. If I knew what they are I would save a lot of calories by eating cake! They are stylish, functional, easy to clean and I highly recommend them! Get one for every plunger in the bathroom! Although I still eat cake every now and then.
