I wanted to hold my purse in the front seat of the car so it wouldn't tip over if I suddenly stopped. (which I often do). Usually my bag falls over when I step on the brake and I can't pick it up on the street because I can't get there without stopping and picking it up from the other side. (I have a large SUV.) Since there were four, I use two in the front and one in the back on each front seat. One of the rear hooks is where I hang my duffel bag and an emergency bag in case I need extra socks, drinks, etc. The second front hook is perfect for a plastic holdall or small purchase. Works for me!
