Poor resolution and image quality. Doesn't work well with Mac.

My office IT person got it for my workstation monitor and the overall quality/experience of using this device is lacking. I connected my MacBook via HDMI and the screen aspect ratio is wrong. The picture quality and resolution are not very good and strain the eyes.
